So with Myspace, my planning blog on Blogspot, my planning bio page on theknot.com, the blog-ish news/updates page on our wedding website, I've had to figure out a way to cut down on the number of pages I keep updated! My solution is to keep my Knot bio and use Blogger for everything that would have been on Myspace. My planning blog has kind of been replaced by the Knot. The news/updates page on our website will probably just turn into updates to the website and strictly wedding related news. Sooo...here it goes!
We're about 140 days from the wedding and we've decided to change the wedding. Yes, we like a challenge ;) In thinking about what feels like us and what makes sense for us in being logical and practical, we've decided to have a more relaxed reception. We're working on the new details, location, and so forth. This means more food tastings...mmmmmm!
I've started what they call getting "gown ready." My gown fits great now, but if I lose some weight before the wedding, it's a lace-up so it'll allow for it. I have some areas I'd like to target, but that's usually difficult to do. Honestly though, my dress tends to hide problem areas, so perhaps this should be getting "bathing suit ready" since our honeymoon is in the Caribbean :) Whatever the case, I've been going semi-low carb, meaning I'm limiting bread intake other than lunch sandwiches, but I still eat potatoes. I'm not sure what this is called exactly. For example, I made salmon lettuce wraps earlier this week and coconut-crusted tilapia lettuce wraps last night. Notice a theme? Basically I'm replacing what could be a bun with a zero food. I'm trying to modify other things as well. I'm back to two sodas max a week, trying to make smart substitutions, avoid the cafeteria at work, drink tons of water. I think being out of school has helped because I was on the go constantly and I'd have to eat something before my night class or after and it was just easy to get into bad habits, though who could resist the greasy goodness of In 'n Out? So about 2-3 times a week, it had been a food splurge. Well now there aren't any excuses. I'm packing lunches and when I don't have time to, I'm making smart cafeteria decisions. I feel a little bit of a difference already. My next step is to start Pilates. I also have a new pair of running/walking shoes and hiking shoes and I'd like to brave the heat and burn some calories, or at the very least, head back to my old stomping grounds at Champions.
We started house-hunting last weekend. We found a house we love, but we want to make sure we don't get in over our heads so we're still looking. There are quite a few on our list to see so we might go out with our real estate agent Kurt this weekend or next week. Major requirements: BIG grassy yard, at least 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bath, decent square footage, pretty much move-in ready, good layout, nice sized kitchen.
So lots going on, but that's about it for an update for now!
