We're very excited to report that we've started booking our honeymoon cruise shore excursions! First to be booked is St. Lucia, which is the second to last port we visit. This is the island where they filmed the first Pirates movie, one of our favorite movies, appropriate for our first shore excursion!
Caribbean Pirates Extravaganza!
Sail aboard the Brig Unicorn and experience the ultimate Caribbean adventure on the tall ship used in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean.
WHAT YOU VISIT Board the 140 foot, 19th-century tall ship Brig Unicorn at the dock, hoist sails, and cruise out of the harbor and along St. Lucia’s leeward coast. The ship’s cannon will be fired during a mock pirate attack. Then drop anchor at historic Pigeon Island where you can explore the ruins of 18th-century Fort Rodney, the scene of fierce naval battles between the British and French. The small museum depicts the island’s colorful history. Swim at the small beach, explore the island on a hike, or hunt for pirate treasure. Back onboard the Brig Unicorn, enjoy an array of snacks along with rum punch and soft drinks.
We're also going...
Trail and beach horseback riding!
Enjoy a ride along a trail and then down a beautiful beach.
WHAT YOU VISIT Board your air-conditioned transportation for the brief ride to the stables located on the northern end of the island. After a safety briefing and orientation follow the guide on an approximately 30-minute trail ride through a dry forest which emerges at a beach located on the beautiful Atlantic Coast. After a picturesque ride along the beach, head back to the stables and then the ship.
Very exciting stuff! We're still researching other excursions for the other islands and will post as we decide on those :)
Wow sounds like you are going have a fantastic honeymoon! I'm so glad you started a blog, I have always enjoyed your writing style. I believe I can remember reading some of your papers back in honors English and being impressed back then! Anyways, have fun house hunting - its an exciting time.
