Randomness and lots of photos!

So it's been awhile since we've posted anything. What have we been up to? For starters, painting! The house is slowly coming together as we paint, settle in, and really make it ours. The first room we've pretty much finished is the guest room. We wanted to be sure it was ready for when Philly comes out this weekend.

First, the before picture:
After:
I switched out some art and haven't hung up the new stuff yet, but at least you get a feel for the room. We got the bedding set with the Macy's gift cards we got as wedding gifts and the shoji screen you see off to the right is one of the ones we used at the wedding reception. It helps to block light from the bonus room.

Besides the guest room, we've painted the master (we're still hanging up pictures and art), the upstairs hallway (have to have a pro come in to do the high ceilings in the staircase), the kitchen and sports room, the living room (the green is GONE!), and we're in the midst of painting the downstairs bonus room (it's very RED). We've recently started hanging up art throughout the house. Two are the main art pieces we got on the cruise...we were so excited to get them hung up finally!

Here's our Koi Garden:
We also got our very first Godard. It's called "Card Shark"
Some other important pieces that have made it up on the wall so far in our sports room...

Roy! This also shows the mess that we're still sorting through...as well as the new wall color :)
We had a perfect place for this sign, hehe Go Avs!Our new microwave. We love it :) Thank you Mama! We are having the cabinets above it cut down to fit...and the orange straws don't belong up there, hehe
Now changing topics completely to what we did on New Year's Eve. Well, we went to a very disappointing hockey game. The Avs unfortunately lost to the Coyotes--not sure what was up with them that night, but we snapped a photo and we look pretty darn psyched to be there. This must have been when they were winning :) Thanks to Ryan and Riss for the tickets!Afterwards, we picked up a couple movies, made an assortment of appetizer type foods and vegged out together.

Next random blog item--tonight I took some action shots of Budaj. He's doing great and is fitting into our family really well. It's funny to see the difference in the personalities of the dogs. Budaj is very much a morning person, while Gracie is adamant about staying in bed as long as we'll let her. She'll hide her face in the covers until we make her get up. Budaj's bright eyed and bushy tailed as soon as he hears the covers stir. He's a very cheerful guy and he seems a lot more settled and at ease, particularly when it comes to chow time. (Though we still give them separate eating quarters) We just need to make the house a little more puppy proof and keep things out of his reach and hopefully we'll solve his destructive tendencies. (He's a jumper and can easily get things off counters).

What's that you got there Momma?

Finally, I got a chance to scan in the two professional photos we had taken on the cruise.

Formal night
Casual night. A very natural pose don't you think? ;) On the 15th chin tilt adjustment, it got a little uncomfortable, but I really do like this photo!
That is all! Hope everyone's new year is going well! 2009 is sure to be a very busy year :)
