18 weeks!

What's going on with Kaelyn: Baby's become amazingly mobile (compared to you, at least), passing the hours yawning, hiccupping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking, and swallowing. And baby is finally big enough that you'll soon be able to feel her movements.
Most women feel the first small rumblings of fetal movement between 18 and 22 weeks (or later, in some cases). Most likely, junior will make his or her presence known within this next, exciting month. Early fetal movements may feel like soft tapping, or butterflies, just above the pubic bone.

How far along? 18 weeks

How big is baby? About the size of a sweet potato. I found another website that's more guy-friendly with their size comparisons. For the record, last week Kaelyn was the size of a hockey puck, crown to rump :) This week, she's the size of a small electric razor. I tend to switch around between the 3 sites I check and choose my favorite comparison for the week to post on here.

Sleep: I could definitely use some more! I plan on sleeping through my lunch today.

Best moment this week: Spending time with fam and relaxing pool-side.

Movement: I felt what I'm pretty sure was movement beginning yesterday and it's started today too. It feels like tapping. (For some reason, I can't think of the word tap without thinking of Happy Gilmore. "Give it a little tap-tap-tap-aroo!") I've felt other things that I haven't been too certain about, but I'm pretty sure the tapping was a foot.
Food cravings: Still potatoes. LOVE them.

Gender: So far, girl. We find out this afternoon if perhaps they missed something last time.

Belly Button in or out? Innie. I definitely seem to have "popped," but due to my innie belly button, it's like a really puffed out donut.

What I miss: I kind of missed having a little rum in my strawberry daquiri this weekend, but nothing to complain about really. What I really miss is not feeling nauseous (it's been 11 weeks of this, Kiddo) and clear skin. I am certainly making up for the fact that I didn't have problem skin as a teenager. My face is breaking out a lot and I'm not supposed to use cleansers with salycic acid (sp?), which eliminates pretty much anything that would help. As a special added bonus, I'm also breaking out on my shoulders.

What I am looking forward to: Getting some nesting done around the house. We should be starting our flooring project on Saturday--woohoo! (We're replacing the last remaining carpet, which is in the bedrooms, with wood laminate.) Not baby-related, but HOCKEY season. First games start tomorrow for the Avs and we're going to the Coyotes white-out this year too with Philip.

Milestones: Almost halfway! Feeling Kaelyn move for the first time.

Weekly Wisdom: Just keep floating, just keep floating...
