19 weeks!

What's going on with KaelynVernix caseosa, a greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil, and dead skin cells (yum) now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. (Picture yourself after a nine-month bath, and the need for protection makes sense.) You might get to see the vernix at birth, especially if baby is premature.

At 15 centimeters crown to rump and weighing 8 ounces, your baby is getting big! And so is your belly right along with him or her.

How far along? 19 weeks

How big is baby? About the size of a softball. Alternatively, she's about the size of a mango or a large heirloom tomato.

Sleep: I think pregnancy insomnia might be setting in. When I wake up in the middle of the night, I can't fall asleep for about an hour. My energy has started to come back though remarkably.

Best moment this week: Feeling Kaelyn move!

Hockey season is on and the Avs won their first game 5-2 :)

Also, the flooring looks fabulous in the guest room and I can hardly wait to have it done in her nursery so we can start getting things set up in there. (Thank you again guys!)

Movement: It's still pretty sporadic, but I'm definitely picking up on what's actually her. I feel a whoosh of sorts when I'm assuming she's flipping and her kicks are getting stronger.

Food cravings: Fewer aversions, but cravings-wise, nothing I can't live without. I was on a major cooking and baking frenzy this past weekend, but I think this was just nesting and/or wanting to boost my domestic confidence.

Gender: Girl!

Belly Button in or out? A little crater in the middle of my quickly expanding belly.

What I miss: A blended iced coffee drink. I want. Also, some consistent sleep would be nice.

What I am looking forward to: Opening night for the Coyotes, getting the paint finished in the nursery, new nursery closet doors...new floors...lots to look forward to.

Milestones: Less than 150 days to go. Woooah. Over halfway to what's considered full-term. Woah again.

Oh and my previously mentioned "quickly expanding belly" is starting to get in the way when I bend over. Only the beginning I know. Soon I shall look like Scrat stretching for something I've dropped on the floor.

Weekly Wisdom: Cherish energy bursts and use them to be productive. I hope they stay for awhile now.
