Today is Brady's 26th birthday! We've had a mellow day at home with "Little," one of several nicknames for Kaelyn.
This morning I made homemade biscuits for breakfast. To him, they're practically their own food group and he's said before how he could have them by themselves as a meal. So that's what we did and just topped them with jam. For my first attempt at "from scratch" biscuits, they turned out pretty well (if I do say so myself). While Brady played with Kaelyn, who has taken to smiling and is starting to giggle (particularly at her daddy), I made his birthday cake. For the past two years, I've made a specialty cake for his birthday so I decided to make it a tradition. Two years ago, I made a Strawberry Twinkie Cake, a twist on strawberry shortcake. Last year, I made a Simpsons donut cake (using a bundt cake pan), complete with a chomp taken out of it, neon pink frosting and sprinkles. This year I decided to go with a hockey theme.

For dinner, we're getting Spinato's to go. It's one of Brady's favorite restaurants--they make some of the best pizza you've ever tasted, complete with homemade dough and sauce. Yum!
26 years ago my best friend and the amazing daddy to our baby girl was born...and the world became a much better place. My world is a much better place because he's in it.
Happy Birthday Hubs!
