We'll start with what happens when combining Kaelyn's crazy hair + bath + Mommy's tireless amusement with the first.
Next up...lots of smiles!
Attitude.
"Mommy Loves Me" (Yes she does!)
Budaj doesn't like to be left out.
We've already introduced you to Lumpy the Lovey. Meet Jorge, the giraffe. (We've really gotten into watching reruns of George Lopez and that's what we call him.) Anyways, she LOVES snuggling with either.
The next one was completely unintentional. I cropped it out of a photo Brady took of Kaelyn laying on the couch snuggling with Jorge. She was also holding my hand. It turned grainy when I started editing, but I kind of like the effect. I may even use it on my Mommy Blog header :)
A really cool gift one of Brady's coworkers just gave us is a family membership at the Phoenix Zoo. It's such a great place to walk around and we thought it was such a great idea, we're planning to renew every year. Yesterday the weather was BEAUTIFUL so Little and I took the opportunity to take our first trip there. (Another perk of being a member is getting in an hour early so we got to park really close to the entrance.) We took the stroller, but I also brought the Baby Bjorn so she could actually look around at the animals.
Mommy and Kaelyn on the Arizona Trail (I don't know what I love more--her hat or the expression on her face) Side note: I need store recommendations for cute--and practical summer hats for her. I found this one at Old Navy, but I believe it's supposed to be for boys (we don't care) and the girl ones are super girlie or have no brim.
Kaelyn's favorite animal...or it was before this trip. This guy was LOUD.
My favorite
We walked the entire zoo and Kaelyn was even awake for most of it! We had a baboon (I forget the actual species name) I referred to as Rafiki walk right up to us at the glass. There were two baby zebras (one was 1 1/2 weeks, the other was 3 1/2 weeks), as well as a baby giraffe. Here are some photos of a few things we saw. (Some photos are much more edited than others.)
One of the Orangutans, "Bessie" I believe
I love hibiscus.
Arizona in bloom...and a cloudless sky. What a perfect day for the zoo.
Kaelyn snoozed right through our elephant encounter so I set the timer and attempted a photo. Fail. Oh well, kind of funny :)
For lunch, I took Little out of the Baby Bjorn and had her lounge in her car seat...and I do mean lounge.
I took this photo while I was on the phone with Brady. Evidently Kaelyn wanted to nap so she pulled down the brim of her hat :)
I think she needs to relax.
