Lilypie Second Birthday tickers

Thursday, January 5, 2012

Well, that's a weight off.

So one really important thing, which actually takes into account that several other very important lifestyle changes have taken place, is that Brady and I lost a mess of weight. 136 pounds combined between the two of us. Something I would tell anyone thinking about starting a weight loss program is, first, do it. (Then I could go right into a motivational speech about how even just focusing on food can make a big difference since weight loss is about 80% food, then the rest is exercise, genetics, etc., but I'll spare you.) Then I would emphasize how important it is to take photos. It helps so much to see the progress. Here are some family photos to prove it!

This before photo of Brady from March 2010 shows the difference in his face
the best when compared to the family shot from Hawaii. (same angle)

Had to include this as a comparison to the before where I'm awkwardly holding Kaelyn.
Please ignore Kaelyn's wild, untamed wind-blown hair in the after photos.

Brady has lost 60 pounds and plans to get to his ultimate goal weight soon.

I've lost 76 pounds and would like to lose another 10 or so in the process of training for a 10K.

We're not experts on weight loss by any means, but if you want to talk or get pointers for weight loss that have worked for us (without giving up Brady's sweet tooth or my addiction to queso), you can always comment with your contact info or email us. A really great resource, good enough to lure me from Weight Watchers about 2/3 of the way through, and what Brady used to lose his weight, is My Fitness Pal. Track your calories, activity, use their database of foods and restaurants, all for free. I'm back on there to get my calories in check after the holiday indulgences--user name is Littlesmomma.
