We'll see what happens. If it's meant to be, it'll be. I'm not a huge fan of bargaining games, but I'm told all of this is common. In the meantime, we're getting the rest of our paperwork all in order...and we have boxes on standby!

The waiting game...
We received a surprising no to our counter to their counter, surprising because after 2 months on the market, they dropped the price $40K and in their first counter offer, dropped another $15K. So a refusal to budge one penny struck us as odd. My guess is they want to see how far we'll come up since we didn't move up too much on the counter. Well they won't get one. Not today or tomorrow. We're now using Kurt's strategy of being aloof and waiting for their realtor to contact him to find out what's going on. At that point he can tell them we're considering other houses, perhaps waiting for a response on an offer we put in on a different house, play that whole game of making them think they've lost the deal. The reality is that our magic number is about 10K lower than their counter, which would mean that we'd still be coming up some on our end.
