What's going on with Peanut: Watch what you say...tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean she can now pick up your voice. A few more minuscule changes: Eyebrows, lashes, and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming.
Weighing in at all of 3 ounces, your little one is now 12 centimeters long. He's holding his head high and moving his limbs with purpose -- maybe even sucking his teeny little thumb (okay, it's just a reflex, but it's still cool). The eyes have moved closer together so that they face forward, and the baby now begins to blink. He or she might even be winking at you: "Hey Mom, I'm chilling out in here! You should relax, too!"

How far along? 16 weeks
How big is baby? About the size of an avocado...this fruit comparison doesn't make much sense because an orange seems bigger, but I guess it has to do with length.
Maternity clothes? I'll all about my maternity jeans and capris on the weekends...or dresses. My work pants are getting uncomfortable. I need to invest in some panty hose so I can "legally" wear dresses to work.
Sleep: It was tough this weekend being away from home for sure. For some reason, it's getting uncomfortable to sleep on my left side. (This is the recommended side for during pregnancy.) It helps to surround myself in pillows and lean back against them. Sleeping on my back or tummy are out of the question right now. I still have my nightly trek to the bathroom, using my cell phone light to guide the way so I avoid tripping over dogs.
Best moment this week: Finding out we're having a daughter!
Movement: Nothing definite yet. Apparently Peanut is very active, constantly flipping and kicking so it seems that when I am able to feel her, I'm going to be feeling her a lot.
Food cravings: Food aversions are definitely on the decline! Amazingly, eggs sounded good to me while we were away this weekend so I had some form every day. My food preferences definitely vary though.
Gender: Girl!
What I miss: Coffee drinks. I still drink some caffeine, but as a special treat, I got a blended iced mocha at Disneyland after our Segway tour. Best coffee drink ever. Not bitter, not too sweet. Oh my. I was so sad when I reached the bottom. My research tells me they use Nescafe so I shall have to create some sort of homemade version every so often. Yummmm. I also could really use a steam room. We had a gentle version and a strong one on our cruise and it would feel so good right now to help clear out the congestion and germs.
Milestones: Peanut can hear me! I've also been getting some "baby bump" comments. Sherry actually stopped mid-conversation, stared at my belly and said "Sorry, I got distracted by your bump."
What I am looking forward to: Feeling better and feeling movement.
So, I must have picked up something while we were at Disney because I've felt absolutely awful for the past few days. There's not a lot of meds approved for pregnant women so I've had to stick to "natural" remedies. I've been focusing on keeping my temperature down, (My OB office said they're not too concerned unless my temp goes over 100.4) and I've been dragging my bucket around with me. Yeah, not fun. My throat isn't feeling nearly as scratchy so I've been downing as much fluids and ice chips as I can. I didn't sleep well at all last night and ended up coming downstairs to sleep on the couch in my recliner since laying flat didn't seem to be helping. I was actually able to get to sleep and stay asleep around 7 and didn't wake up until almost 11 and then I took another from about 1:30 to nearly 4. Sleep is definitely my friend.
We have a bunch of Disney pictures to upload so a post on our trip is on the way. We had such a great time. Definitely a great way to spend my birthday!
