CAKE! I know!

Sorry, we had to throw in that movie reference. (My Big Fat Greek Wedding if you're not a Scene-It All-Star)

Really now, despite Peanut moving around a LOT and being generally stubborn, about 5 students, along with the instructor/program director agreed that they are about 98% sure that Peanut is a.......

GIRL!

The program director Lynette came over to help the students and started prodding my belly since Peanut was turned transverse, which means she seems to like laying sideways (that's how she was last time too), and is more difficult to figure out the gender. Lynette tilted me back so all the blood basically rushed to my head and then she shook my belly with the wand. Literally. Sure enough, Peanut rolled over and gave her a better look. She froze the image and pointed to the screen and asked the students their opinion. I had been told about what to look for and saw the three lines that indicates girl right away. All of the students said the same thing.

Sooo, the poll seemed to favor girl, along with the majority of the silly online gender predictors, as well as momma's intuition :) (Brady didn't want to wager a guess) We're very excited about our little girl and also that the last student we had, who seemed to be much further in the program (and also works for the 3D/4D ultrasound facility where we'll probably end up going in 3rd trimester), said everything looked fantastic. I think it'll take a little while to really hit us that we're having a daughter. We've been so careful up to this point that we not refer to Peanut as one or the other.

The pictures they printed this time were a lot better than last time, but keep in mind, Peanut's very active. She was constantly flipping and jumping. Oh and Peanut's got some major personality already!

Brady says she looks like a dinosaur here. Rawwwwwr. She's looking right at the camera, probably saying "Oh no, not you guys again."
Skeletor again, but this time when they froze it, Peanut's eyes looked like they were glowing. It was hilarious. It also looked like she was making fists. "The first rule of Fight Club is you don't talk about Fight Club."
Good picture of Peanut's spine and ribs. Her face was turned away.

"I see you!" It looked like Peanut was making binoculars out of her hands. Like I said, the kid's got personality. You can see the umbilical cord too coming in from the left.

I LOVE this last picture. Peanut just chillin' out, sucking her thumb (her hand is kind of faded out in this picture), feet up in the air. Check out the long legs!

It's amazing how much Peanut has grown in 2 weeks! Her heartbeat is very strong, but they couldn't get a quality audio because she was moving around constantly. It was so great to see her progress and to know what she's up to these days. I haven't felt movement yet, but I'll get little aches that feel like small muscle cramps so I'm getting a better idea where Peanut must be hanging out--or kicking quite a bit.

We're so excited about our little girl! We joked on the drive home that we can also refer to her as "Twinks the Second" because Brady seems to think she's stubborn like her momma. We can't wait to keep getting to know her personality and to meet her sometime around the beginning of March!
