17 weeks!

What's going on with Kaelyn: Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. Her umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes now feature one-of-a-kind prints.

At 12 centimeters crown to rump, your baby is large enough to give you a good kick in the belly. Within the next month, you should be able to feel this 5-ounce wonder throwing his or her weight around. But even if you can't feel her just yet, you can start to bond with your child right now.

How far along? 17 weeks

How big is baby? About the size of a turnip (or an onion)

Maternity clothes? I have transitioned to dresses and skirts to be more comfy at work, but seriously, can someone please make panty hose that doesn't run? If work didn't require them, I'd swear them off entirely.

Sleep: Not sleeping nearly well enough. Apparently I'm talking (or mumbling more accurately) a lot in my sleep, but I don't remember what I was dreaming about. I do much better in the morning (conveniently when I'm supposed to be getting up for work) and if I sleep later it helps with the nausea and morning sickness too, but alas, it's not a possibility during the week.

Best moment this week: Deciding on a name!

Movement: Still not anything definite, but there have been a few times when I thought I felt something.

Food cravings: This weekend I wanted sushi...badly. Specifically tuna rolls, but I can't have raw fish so that will have to wait. My sense of taste has been dulled due to being sick this week and at the moment (as it's morning), food just sounds awful to me.

Gender: Girl! (We'll get to confirm with my OB next Wednesday)

Belly Button in or out? Something seems to have shifted because my belly looks like a donut and my belly button's not nearly as shallow as it has been recently.

What I miss: Not feeling nauseous all the time. ::whimpers::

What I am looking forward to: Relaxing w/ the fam (including our adorable niece Morgan) at a resort this weekend, floating around the lazy river. Also, confirming that our little girl is still a girl!

Weekly Wisdom: Listen to your body. Rest.
