On Friday the 16th, the AZ State Fair roared back into town and offered $1 admission before 7pm. We headed down to the fairgrounds after work to take advantage of this deal. We managed to find a parking spot and made it quickly through the ticket line to get inside. We first cruised through the shopping/merchandise building, where we were coaxed into having samples of neck and shoulder massages for free. After that, we walked around, checking out the different booths, signed petitions for the Republican party of Arizona. We noted that the Democrat's booth was deserted in comparison. ::snicker:: That's from someone who was registered Independent and didn't want to join one side. It's amazing how quickly certain leaders make me want to run in the opposite direction cupping my hands to my ears.
ANYways, next on our list was food. There's definitely a lot to choose from at the fair. We decided on foot long corn dogs.
We then wandered ove
r to the games, which are a bit of a rip off admittedly, but we played two water gun race games and won 2 prizes! After that, we got dessert and decided we were faired out. The deep-fried Twinkie we bought was a bit of a let-down since they didn't make it fresh so we swung by a Circle K and grabbed a snack to make up for it.
Budaj wasn't sure about one of our prizes--a Siberian Husky to go in the Alaska/Antarctica/polar bears and penguin themed nursery.
Trick or Treat!
