Dr's appointment/anatomy scan ultrasound

Last Friday, I had another doctor's appointment. This one was for the anatomy scan ultrasound and a followup with the nurse practitioner since Dr. Doan's availability didn't work very well with our schedules. First we met with the ultrasound tech, who was the same one we had at the very first ultrasound at almost 9 weeks. She printed about 50 photos for the chart of the various organs. Each measurement she made brought up an estimate of Kaelyn's gestational age for that particular body part or organ and for all, she's either right on track or measuring ahead. We also got to confirm once again that she is a girl. Oh and they estimated she was almost a pound.

It seems like another personality trait Kaelyn has inherited from me is the fact that she's clearly not a morning person. For the last few ultrasounds, we've gone in later in the day or early evening. At those times, she's been flipping around and doing somersaults and everyone has laughed at how active she is. Friday morning, however, she seemed to be dozing. She had her feet up in the air and was turned mainly toward my back, just chilling out. As a result, they weren't able to get a very good profile image and they didn't get a good look at her heart. (They like to look at the details of the 4 chambers.) The doctor should be calling to go over the results and we might have another ultrasound at the next appointment in November to get better photos.

After the ultrasound, we had a quick followup with the nurse practitioner Stephanie who we had the first appointment with as well. I really like her. We just did the usual weight and blood pressure checks and then she went over any questions we had.

Now, a few photos! Like I said, Kaelyn was being very stubborn so they're not the best.

Action shot profile. She had her hand up by her mouth the whole time.
Glancing over her shoulder at us. "Yeah, I don't feel like having my picture taken."
My favorite photo from this ultrasound. She had her little feet smushed together against the side of my belly :)
