Just for fun, I've posted a link on the right hand side where you can guess on when you think Kaelyn will arrive and what her stats will be. This should be interesting :)
What's going on with Kaelyn:
Baby can recognize and react to simple songs...time to start practicing your lullabies! In fact, baby will recognize frequently sung tunes after birth and probably find them soothing. Less cute news: She now urinates about one pint per day. Get the diapers ready!
I've started singing little songs to her so we shall see if she comes out being soothed by them...or if she comes out holding her little hands to her ears.
How far along? 34 weeksHow big is baby? Almost 5 pounds and almost 18 inches, head to heel. Sorry, no new photo comparison this week.
Sleep: More would be nice.
Best moment this week: Baby shower last Saturday! (As soon as I get some photos, I'll post them!) Being told I'm out of the "scary" stage for going into labor...that most babies do fine at this point. Also, we finally had a "Movies Under The Stars" and firepit night on Saturday...unfortunately I fell asleep, but the ambiance was very cool.
Movement: When she's wiggling around, she's stronger than ever, but I get the feeling she's squished. She doesn't have the wind up she did before to kick or punch me. I can feel it, but it doesn't visibly shake my belly like it did just a couple weeks ago.
Food cravings: Subs.
Belly Button in or out? I have a theory that I will go into labor immediately after my belly button decides to pop out. This would be hilarious.
What I miss: not having back, muscle, and joint pain all the time. I also miss being able to easily bend down to pick up things I dropped (which I do a lot). Now I sit/stand there and decide whether the item is worth picking up. Oh and I clearly took for granted my heartburn-free days before pregnancy.
What I am looking forward to: mid-week fun date night tonight, decorating the nursery this weekend...oh and even though it's 2 weeks away, I'm really excited about the growth ultrasound to see how big she's gotten.
Milestones: 3 weeks until full-term! Also, my doctor told me 34 weeks marks another milestone of being out of the "scary" stage. Statistically, babies born at this point do well (with some assistance for their still-developing lungs). I've also got I'd say 80% of my work to-do list before maternity leave done and while before I was all for Kaelyn staying put until at least her due date, now I'm in the mindset that once we get to full-term, anytime is fine with me. (Hear that, Kiddo?)
Oh and the crib and some of her other gear is put together and the nursery is starting to look like--well, a nursery :)
Weekly Wisdom: Shop around for deals. Date nights are important. Washing one car=a day of rain; washing two cars=a week of rain.
