37 week appointment & Work Baby Shower

Well my appointment today was pretty uneventful. I opted not to get checked for progress. Just the usual--weight, blood pressure, heartbeat, measurement. (She measured at right about 38 weeks this time.) My main goal was just to ask Dr. Hlavacek if there is something else I can try for my sinus congestion from this darn cold. There aren't many options during pregnancy, but she suggested Sudafed, which has a higher dose of decongestant so here's hoping. I've been pretty miserable the past few days. I want to get over this obviously before going into labor and having Kaelyn. Tonight I'm just trying to use every "homeopathic" remedy for congestion--hot showers, saline drops, and right now I'm sitting in the mist of the penguin humidifier from Kaelyn's room.

Yesterday was my work baby shower. I have such thoughtful and generous coworkers, let me tell you. A lot of pictures were taken, but I have to get those from one of the physical therapists (I left work early today). I walked in to a clothesline of adorable baby girl clothes, blankets, shoes. There was a ton of food (it was a potluck), including sushi, sandwich wraps, meatballs, spinach dip, smoked salmon, salads, and the ultimate bundt cake. If you live in the Scottsdale/North Phoenix area, you must try Nothing Bundt Cakes. They're a bit pricey, but absolutely delicious! One of the doctor's wives works there so they make an appearance at just about every work event.

Brady's work is throwing him a dad's baby shower next Wednesday :)

Oh and as soon as I'm feeling better, I'll take photos and post a tour of Kaelyn's nursery. It should be sometime this weekend hopefully. We're planning a very mellow weekend together to recover from being sickies for the past couple of weeks.
