Back to her Little self.

Poor little girl had a rough few weeks of eye infection scares, a cold, GI upset, a stomach bug, teething, but I'm happy to report that she's back to being happy and healthy. Last week, I took a couple of days off and we had such a blast together.

The first day, we had a shopping outing. I met my most recent weight loss goal of 25 pounds (since June) and my rewards are always to buy stuff for Kaelyn. Usually I just order stuff online, but I decided to take her shopping instead this time. We headed off to ToysRUs and leisurely strolled around. We found a spinning wheel alphabet zoo that she looooves, as well as a Wheel Pal lion. By the time we were at the checkout, it was definitely time for her nap. She wasn't really fussy, but she just looked exhausted.

"Momma, are we quite through?"

Here are some more pictures from my days off:

Ball pit!

Kaelyn has quite the curiosity about technology. If she even sees a glimpse of my cell phone, for example, her eyes get wide and she does this gimmee, gimmee dance. She's made at least 2 calls and sent 2 texts while in possession of the phone. She loves flipping through the photos on there because of the touch screen, too.

Mmmm, cell phone. :nomnom:
Sooo did we ever mention that Kaelyn has a twin? Yep. She lives in the wall.

As soon as I pulled the film off of this mirror (it's an unbreakable variety that I bought from a school supply company online) and leaned it against the wall, her eyes lit up and she slapped her hands down and pulled herself over to it. (I don't think this quite qualifies as crawling forward yet.)

On the crawling front, she is SO determined. She's so quick scooting all over the floor, mainly backwards, and she'll crawl with her hands then drag the rest of herself along--she just needs to get the motion down for her legs/knees. Soon. Then we are in soo much trouble. Seriously, we have no idea what we're in for.

She is now officially feeding herself her own bottles. Turns out Little had us fooled. We've tried to get her to hold her bottle for awhile, but she'd end up dropping it to play with her hair or put her hands over her eyes, really nonchalant. One day I picked her up from Ms. Nada's house and Nada was giving me a daily recap and she told me, so impressed: "She's really great at holding her own bottle!" I looked at her dumbfounded and thought "Oh reeeally?" So now she's graduated to chilling out in her bouncer or leaning on the Boppy with her bottle. She'll even one-hand the bottle so she can fiddle with her hair. It's hilARious.

Day 1 of holding her own bottle...at home at least.

"I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your stacking cup tower down!"

Eventually I want to get Little her own kid-friendly digital camera. I think she'll still try to grab ours though.

I love this picture--she just has the goofiest look on her face.

Working on that crawling business...

Well that'll do it for some of the photo highlights. I have tomorrow off and the weather is supposed to be absolutely wonderful so I'm planning on spending as much of the day outside as possible! I also need to get the photos off Brady's computer from Dylan's 1st birthday get-together at the zoo!
