When in Big Bear...

Eat. Play. Love.

Something like that, anyway. We got the opportunity to spend a few days at a pretty swanky place in Big Bear. We didn't take photos of the actual condo, but it was niiiice--3 bed/3 bath, steam showers (my favorite part of the condo), huge whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, Viking appliances (Brady wanted to take the stove w/ a professional flat cooktop/grill home), and it was right next to Big Bear Village. The simplicity of a small town was a nice change of pace--the weather started off pretty cold, especially with the breeze off the lake, and warmed up throughout our stay. At Magic Mountain (not to be confused w/ the Disneyland ride), we got hooked up with free passes for snow play (normally $25 per person) so Kaelyn did get her first feel and taste of snow!

98% of the photos were of Little. Can't help it, she's just so stinkin' cute.

I did an impromptu photoshoot of Kaelyn in the living room w/ the little camera and then I had fun tonight after she fell asleep playing with effects in iPhoto. Dress top courtesy of Aunt Michelle & Cousin Catherine :)

In the background, you may notice Kaelyn's new tunnel. I ordered it a few days before we left and thanks to a free trial of express shipping, it arrived in time for the trip. She immediately loved it--she gets a huge smile on her face when she crawls through it, she loves the crinkly material, the big tag on it--it makes an awesome toy. (I want to get her a tent and another tunnel to make a fun obstacle course/fort.)
I thought it was hilarious how she was sitting on the couch. She's worn them before, but with the cold weather, we really got a chance to try out her BabyLegs (basically, they're stocking/leg warmers that look cute, protect her knees from rug burn, obviously keep her warmer, and make diaper changes a breeze if she's just cruising around in a onesie, etc.)...ANYway, you can see the top of her argyle print below...well, in sepia tone. (They're actually pink.)
We had the fireplace going whenever we were at the condo (kinda sorta pictured behind the smiling munchkin)
See her 2 bottom teeth? Yeah, there's more coming in. Poor baby was teething like crazy on the trip.
Momma & Kaelyn
Never wake a sleeping baby. Seriously. When Little fell asleep on the couch next to me, I tried not to move...except to grab the camera. Example of BabyLegs #2 (after she ripped the pink ribbon bow off the ankles. These are grey and pink.)
Brady has some photos he took when we pulled off on the road to Arrowhead on his computer, as well as some others from the trip (including some potential Christmas cards), but I haven't had a chance to upload them to my laptop yet. I had car sickness on our road trip to and from Arrowhead, but when we stopped, I did snap these:

Little snoozing and through the uncooperative window shades is Brady in photographer mode, climbing over the guard rail on a winding, very scary road with a major drop-off. Yeah.
Looking down toward Big Bear Lake
I think Brady was on the correct side of the guard rail here
Brady doesn't like his photo taken so I take what opportunities I can get ;)
These were as we were leaving Big Bear coming home. It's amazing how expansive the view is and also how quickly the landscape changes.

On our drive home, reading my favorite Dr. Seuss book.
We had a great, relaxing vacation--hopefully, the first of many!
