Wow. 11 months already?
I realized I skipped posting her 10 month info so let's play catch-up:
Height: Yeeeah, she doesn't like to lay down, let alone stay still while lying down.
Weight: 24.4 pounds (using the weigh with me method--we'll get an official one year old weigh-in next month!) According to my Googling, this puts her between 90-95 percentile
What Kaelyn's up to these days:
-cruising!
-climbing. Fearless climbing. She's also a pro at the staircase...going up at least. We'll have to keep working on her descent.
-talking. First was "Dada" and now she says "book" and "bath" consistently. She also says "Momma" now!
-dancing. She is hilarious--if we start singing just about any song, she starts swaying. I had her in the shopping cart at the grocery store and she was sitting there eating puffs and bopping her head to the beat of the overhead music.
-18 month size clothes and up for the most part. For pants, she'll probably be moving on up to 24 month sizes soon. Size 4 shoes.
-3 solid "meals" a day plus snacks and juice. She seems less interested in her bottle during the day, but guzzles it down at night. I think we might start spacing out her bottles and/or start more of an on-demand system. She's doing well with the sippy cup and it works better for her on-the-go feeding routine mid-day, meaning if she can fit it in her busy schedule of playing, she might sit still long enough to have part of a bottle.
-Her favorite foods seem to be peas, pumpkin or sweet potato pancakes, veggie hot dogs, and cheese slices, though she gets really excited now for mealtime, regardless of what's being served. She was tired of apple juice, but LOVES her peach-mango or pomegranate.
-She is getting better about sleeping, though she's been waking up because of her teething. We've got a more consistent bedtime routine in place and she goes down easily (seriously, it's awesome), but we're finding that some nights she just can't make it from her bedtime bottle to when we wake up in the morning. In these instances, it's usually after 5 hours (which is what qualifies as "sleeping through the night"--haha, experts. That's funny.) and she acts really hungry and will down a bottle in record time. I'm okay with it since some babies are like that (and it's considered normal until at least 18 months, sometimes age 2)--I'm just glad she's going to bed easier, gets a pretty consistent amount of sleep, and will settle herself back to sleep most of the time.
-Little has 4 teeth! The bottom front two have been in for awhile, the top two are poking through now, and I spotted another on the bottom starting to come in. Thank goodness the teething tablets that worked wonders in the past are coming back on the market soon. We should buy stock.
Little also:
-still thinks her reflection is the biggest hoot.
-will unpack baskets, bags, drawers, cabinets of all of their contents. She's not really into putting anything back.
-wants to be left to explore. Translation: "Momma, I don't want to sit on your lap right now." I'll just let her play independently and I've found every 10 minutes or so she'll check in with me, climb on me, hug me, squeeze my cheeks, and go back to playing. She lets us know when she wants us to join in.
-does "follow the leader," which is really cute.
-still has her favorite "magic" bedtime song. If she's sleepy and hears it, it's lights out for the Little.
-loves her Lilo & Stitch bath book. It's the most basic story, just going through the different activities of the day, but my goodness does she light up. She also loves her bath numbers and letters, which is why some are strewn around the house.
-seems to have a favorite color: Yellow! I've noticed her preference for this color with the bath letters I mentioned above, as well as with some of her toys.
-loves her ABCs song.
-is still fascinated by hair, meaning she yanks mine all the time. No pony tail or other preventative measure will deter her. If you see me with my hair in absolute disarray, half-down, in a rat's nest off to one side, etc., that is likely the reason.
-thinks everything is a drum--the cabinets, the floor, our heads. I'm planning to get her a little band set for her birthday to give her a proper outlet for this, though now that I think about, the maracas, drum sticks, and other instruments could be used as weapons...hmm.
-Relating to this, she loves to play "drums" with me. I'll drum a beat on the floor, then she'll go, then me, and so forth taking turns. Update: She now has a drum (and other instruments) of her very own!
-She seems more interested in boys than girls. Brady's not too keen on this, but I think she's just a tomboy.
