I haven't posted to the blog in such a long time! I guess that calls for a massive photo update?
We've been pretty busy lately and only getting busier. Here's a little of what's been going on:
-Aunt Laurie & Uncle Joe came to town! (Also my Godparents) Their anniversary trip to Paris was delayed so they did what any good Cubbies fans would do--they came out to Arizona for spring training. Brady's company hosted a D-Backs day so everyone got free tickets to see a D-Backs spring training game and of course, Laurie & Joe were happy to go!
Aunt Laurie did an excellent job of keeping Kaelyn's fair skin (courtesy of moi) covered with sun block and burn-free since I wasn't able to be there.
They got Kaelyn her very own Cubbie Love dress and I can hardly wait for it to fit so she can wear it--she'll be sporting blue this summer! We'll have to get some D-backs gear to even it out.
-We had Sherry & Jason stay with us for a few days, though we wish it had been under better circumstances. Sherry's step-mom, Kathleen, was killed by a drunk driver on Saturday, March 19th. Kathleen was such a kind, soft-spoken woman--at her memorial service held exactly one week after the accident, everyone mentioned how she gave the best hugs, how she genuinely cared about everyone. The sadness and tragedy Sherry's family has faced in the past 5 years alone breaks my heart. Kathleen will be missed by so many. {The news story about the accident}
After the memorial, I caught up with the D-Backs crew at the hotel (at one of the properties at Scottsdale Princess, where Brady proposed!), where we caught up and had a delicious dinner.

You know, you'd think with all the sunshine out here and the fact that they were outdoor games, Uncle Joe would have gotten some sort of tan ;)

The restaurant was surprisingly deserted. Kaelyn wandered all through the back area behind us. She doesn't like to sit still these days. (Oh, for those who follow my Mommy Blog and my weight loss journey, those capris I'm wearing below? They're too big now... Booyah!)

-Brady had a birthday! We celebrated during the weekend before with good food, relaxation, and we went to Dave & Busters, which was a blast with Kaelyn :) Every year I bake a specialty cake for him and this year I decided to do a deep dish pizza. We also had Brady's favorite--Spinato's pizza for dinner! Here's how the cake turned out:
-I got a new car! Well, a new used car anyway :) Love it.
-We went to Anthem's park and playground a couple times--from our first trip:
This park is AWESOME. First, we started off with a picnic lunch.
Then we played on the playground...
And got soaked on the splash pad! Kaelyn is a smarty pants--I told her to say "hi" to the elephant and she walked right over to him and waved at him and patted his side without me pointing him out--keeping in mind she also had a whale and a sea lion to choose between.
I had her walking beside the stroller as we were leaving the playground area. As soon as she realized what was happening, she turned right around to go back and play...
We fed the ducks and geese and headed back to the car. Kaelyn got a little off course and thought about hitching a ride from the train. To bad it wasn't running on that day!
