24 weeks! Happy V-Day, Little One.

**I'm going to take a self-portrait tonight...unless I get caught up in my nesting frenzy**

Milestones: I'm starting with milestones this week because Kaelyn just reached a HUGE one. V-DAY! Also known as viability day. Basically it means that if she were to make her appearance early, with significant medical help, she'd have a chance of survival, while before now, there would be little they could do. Now, by no means do I want little girl coming anytime before full-term. (Actually, if I got to choose her birthday, it would be in about 16 weeks and 2 days so we could go to the Avs/Coyotes game ;) ) She still has a lot of growing to do so she needs to stay put, but I am incredibly thankful and relieved to have made it to this milestone.

What's going on with Kaelyn: Baby's skin is becoming more opaque as the fat starts to pack on. And, thanks to the formation of small capillaries, her newly thick skin is taking on a fresh pink glow.

How far along? 24 weeks

How big is baby? About the length of an ear of corn--about a foot or so long. She's approximately 1 & 1/2 pounds. (The other 2 sites will change size comparisons at 25 weeks)

Sleep: Bleh. Quality sleep seems to be out of the question. I wake up multiple times a night feeling wide awake. Mornings are another story. I've also just become aware of a nightly event--it's called 11pm Gymnastics and it has encores throughout the night. I love the movement, but I get the feeling this might be particularly disruptive as she continues to pack on the pounds.

Best moment this week: Getting more things checked off the to-do list and getting more organized...hanging out with the hubs playing Yahtzee. (It's the simple things :) )

Movement: Lots of it! I'm trying to figure out her schedule. Her peak times for activity seem to be 8-9:30am, then 12-2, and the 6-8pm block of time still seems to be her most active. She now wakes up right around my bedtime and does flips until I fall asleep and when I wake up throughout the night, she's sometimes at it again.

Food cravings: Cheese. I love me some queso dip. Also, things with a kick of spice like jalapenos and other peppers.

Gender: Girl!

Belly Button in or out? Innie and still goofy looking as ever under shirts.

What I miss: Having the energy to get the things done that I really want and need to get done. Quality sleep. I miss it.

What I am looking forward to: Getting more accomplished on the to-do list. Boring I know, but it makes me feel better and more prepared. Also, Brady getting to feel Kaelyn kick from the outside. She continues to be stubborn when I try to show off her kicking abilities.

Weekly Wisdom: Prop up the feet. I experienced my first bout of swelling in my ankles and it ain't pretty, my friends.
