Appointment update

Yesterday I had a regular appointment, as well as the glucose tolerance test. It wasn't that bad, but obviously I'd like to avoid having to do the 3-hour so cross your fingers for good sugar digestion. I should have the results by next week. For more details, see the Just Twinks blog.

The little munchkin is measuring on track at exactly 29 weeks as of yesterday. I'm thinking maybe she was in a different position last time, which made her measure ahead of schedule. It's not a perfect science anyways. If she measures ahead again, they'll send me for a growth ultrasound to estimate her weight. I fully anticipate a good-sized baby. Brady was born 3 weeks early and was somewhere around 7 1/2 pounds (if memory serves). I was 2 weeks late and weighed 9 lbs something, I think close to 10 lbs.

Her heartrate was 150 bpm, which I sort of attribute to the sugar overload from the glucola. Dr. Doan had to look low for the heartbeat so I suspect she's in a similar position as she was for the 3-D ultrasound, which was head down with her toes by her nose. This makes sense because her kicks tend to be low too. I'm not sure what position she's in a lot of the time, though I'm sure as she packs on the baby fat, I'll be able to tell a little better.

Also, appointments are now every 2 weeks. Woooah, I'm already to that point. It's every 2 weeks until 36 weeks and then I go every week.

I was sitting in the exam room waiting for Dr. Doan thinking how it felt like yesterday that we were there at less than 9 weeks for the first ultrasound. Obviously couldn't feel little girl yet and she was teeny tiny and out of proportion. Then there I was last night, poking at the spot on my stomach she kicks most often (which is one of two spots that now sport stretch marks) to try to get her to play so I could locate her foot. We've come so far :)
