**I'd like to thank Brady's Angels little league shirt, which has been having to work very hard in the belly region to cover the ever-expanding leader of the stretch marks, Taloola**What's going on with Kaelyn:
Baby's skin is getting smooth and soft, her gums are rigid, her liver and kidneys are in working order, and her circulation and immune system are basically good to go. Her lungs are the only organs that still need to fully mature, but every day she gets a little closer to breathing on her own.
How far along? 36 weeksHow big is baby? Little one isn't so little. Her fruit comparison is a crenshaw melon. (I had never heard of that before now to be honest.) This translates to at least 18 1/2 inches in length. At this point, babies average almost 6 lbs. (We'll see what they estimate tomorrow!)
Sleep: What's that?
Best moment this week: Getting the nursery almost finished. :)
Movement: She's definitely squished so she's not exactly doing somersaults anymore, but kickboxing seems to be keeping her busy.
Food cravings: Meat and potatoes, basically.
Belly Button in or out? Lightly in. Remember my turkey thermometer theory? There might be something to it.
What I miss: life without heartburn. This seems to be a repetitive theme, but more than stretch marks or Shrek feet, I want this heartburn to go away once she's born. If you saw how the stretch marks have taken over, you would understand how very unpleasant the heartburn is.
What I am looking forward to: growth ultrasound tomorrow, work baby shower next week. Getting to dress our little girl in the coming home outfit I packed in our hospital bag over the weekend :)
Milestones: We could very well have a baby this month. Wow. Brady pointed this out on Monday when he called me at work. Nursery is pretty much done, jogging stroller is assembled and awaiting our first walk (shockingly, it did not scare Gracie in the least)...
Weekly Wisdom: "Get 'ir done." Sorry, we watched a lot of Blue Collar Comedy Tour this weekend when we were sickies. Really though, if you just barrel through the to-do list, it feels soo much better. I'm a lot more relaxed. I wish I hadn't felt so frazzled by it before, but I really want to relax and enjoy these last few weeks.
