The last bits of vernix caseosa (the white goo keeping baby's skin moist) and lanugo (downy hair) are slowly shedding into your amniotic fluid. Baby's head is about the same circumference as her abdomen, and her head could be covered in an inch or so of hair.
How big is baby? My guess? Big.
Sleep: I talk, I snore, I flail about. Oddly enough, I'm not having as much achiness at night (I'm still having some), but sleep is still a challenge. I sleep better when I'm supposed to be getting up in the morning, which is inconvenient.
Best moment this week: Actually recovering from being sickies with Brady was nice. We didn't do a whole lot this weekend. If I'm still pregnant this weekend, I'd like a similarly mellow couple of days. Perhaps take in a movie.
Labor Signs: I had made progress at 36 weeks so I'm expecting more when I get checked tomorrow. Lots of Braxton Hicks in the past couple of days, which I hadn't had too many of before.
Food cravings: Potatoes, specifically french fries. Oh and Brady bought us two cartons of ice cream that I've turned into yummy milkshakes. I think I'm just getting in my last sort-of guilt free food.
What I miss: My normal feet. I think I got dehydrated while I was sick and Shrek feet (specifically Donkey) took full advantage. They just look awful. It's totally normal at this point and it seems that no amount of water intake or propping helps, but they're really stiff around the ankles in particular.
What I am looking forward to: meeting Kaelyn! If not in the next few days, then I look forward to a mellow weekend.
Milestones: I'm ready, Brady's ready...we think. We're to the "waiting game" stage.
Weekly Wisdom: Have a lazy weekend. Or two. Relax and nap.
